The Art of Creating Films

This journey started in college but can be traced back even further since middle school. As time went on and I wanted to challenge myself and expand my skillset, I studied how to not only create content, but set myself apart and become something more than just a kid with imagination. University was the training ground for me to acquire, master, and expand these new skills. Some of my favorite work that I have been able to do involves a story, one where you get to decide where it should go. Furthermore, I had the opportunity to learn many aspects of this field and experiment with it even more now. Here are some pieces of work that I was heavily involved with during my tenure at university.

Short Film

Once I entered university, my drive for creation blossomed and flourished. Even during Covid, my start was not inhibited and challenged my creativity and ingenuity to think outside of the box. These films are a product from that starting period. In the context of narrative filmmaking, they stem from daily life, attempts to decipher life's biggest questions, as well as expanding on the wildest dreams that can be imagined. As the years went on, they serve as metaphorical chapters and milestones for the skillsets that I've learned and tested.

"Insomnia" - 2-Minute Short Film
This 2-minute short film was my first film project at university. It explores the affects that the lack of sleep has on you.
"The DreamCatcher - Bringer of Thoughts, Hopes, And Dreams"
This is the first true short film I have created while studying at university, and it allowed me to delve deep into this field.
"To Be My Seed"
This idea sparked from the feeling of homesickness and loneliness, and this follows a girl who goes about a new friendship while studying abroad.
Upcoming Thesis Project
This is a placeholder for my main thesis project at university. More details on the release of it will be coming soon.

The Creative Zone

When I tell stories, there are many mediums that I use to show what is present. My favorite types of edits are short form trailers or simple projects that I put a lot of work into. This illustrates some of my favorite highlights from the editing room and creative zone.

"My Edit of 'The Twilight Zone"
This is a visual experiment that I put together featuring Aaron Hibell’s remix of “The Twilight Zone”.
"2022 Reel Recap"
This is my cinematography and videography reel for 2022, where I had a massive opportunity to get onto more sets and projects than in previous years.
"The Magic Mic - Making a Genius"
This is the trailer for a project that showcases voice actors and the work that they do to bring your favorite characters to life.
"Colin Cosmic" - Concept Trailer
This as a thought project for an idea I had about a kid who made rockets, although ironically enough, this didn't get off the ground, yet.

Collaborative Minds

Besides working on my own projects, I've also had the opportunity to work on many different projects with many great and talented people. Especially since I've been in college, these are the results from the work that I've been able to help bring to life.
